Welcome to the Cubs Den at the Modern Mountain! The studio is perfect for travelers to relax after a long day of hiking the Blue Ridge Parkway.
***The studio is located on the first floor of the home. During your stay the second floor unit may be rented. The studio has been designed with extra insulation in the walls and ceilings to reduce noise, however it's important to note that you may hear sounds from guests that are occupying the main home on the 2nd floor ***

The studio features a well-equipped kitchenette, complete with full fridge, microwave and Keurig coffee maker, allowing you to prepare quick meals or enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. We offer complimentary k-pods/sugar/creamer during your stay. It also includes a Ninja Multi Cooker, which can function as a slow cooker, steam oven, sauté pan, steamer, sauce pan, Dutch oven, roasting pan, and even a bread maker! With the Ninja Multi Cooker, you can easily prepare a variety of dishes without the need for multiple pots and pans. While the kitchenette is not designed for full-scale cooking, it's perfect for heating up leftovers or preparing simple meals and with a full-size fridge, you can easily store any groceries or drinks you might need during your stay.

If you want to enjoy a drink in the evening, you'll find additional bar ware that you can use to mix up your favorite cocktails. We've tried to make our kitchenette as comfortable and convenient as possible, so we hope you enjoy your stay and all the amenities that our space has to offer

Additionally, there is a comfortable living space with a queen-size sofa bed, ideal for additional guests or simply relaxing and watching your favorite shows on the 55'' smart TV.

The studio has a king-size bed with a comfortable Helix mattress and sound machine, perfect for a good night's sleep. The bed is also accompanied by a desk and office chair, providing a workspace for business travelers or those who need to get work done during their stay. There is a washer and dryer in the studio, so you can easily do your laundry without the need to leave the comfort of your room.

During your stay, you have exclusive access to the guest suite of the house which is located on the first floor of the home. You do not have access to 2 owner's closets in the basement. There is a stairway connecting the guest suite to the first level of the home which is unavailable to guests of the Cub's Den.

The property is near neighboring houses in Black Mountain, where the natural sounds of the outdoors are part of the areas charm. In the mornings, you may hear the sound of roosters crowing. We provide sound machines and earplugs for light sleepers, but if you're particularly sensitive to noise, we suggest taking this into consideration before booking your stay.

Please be aware that this area is home to active bears. Avoid leaving food or trash outside, and make sure to store all food securely in the house or in garbage containers in the garage.
