Please note that we are currently in the process of improving the landscaping.

You will have exclusive access to the house, except for the garage, 1st level studio (unless rented as the whole home), and 2nd floor mudroom closet and master bedroom owner's closet. The first floor door is the entrance to the studio and is unavailable for your use.

Retreat at Modern Mountain is the 2nd floor unit of the home. The guest suite on the first floor may be rented during your stay. You will not have access to the garage during your stay. The door to the downstairs stair case will be locked. This door connects to the first floor studio and you will be unable to access the inner home staircase during your stay. If you would like to rent the whole home (4/3.5) please rent the Modern Mountain.

Modern Mountain is near neighboring houses in Black Mountain, where the natural sounds of the outdoors are part of the areas charm. In the mornings, you may hear the sound of roosters crowing. We provide sound machines and earplugs for light sleepers.

There are active bears in the area. Avoid leaving food or trash outside, and make sure to store all food securely in the house or in garbage containers in the garage. Keeping the space tidy and free of food waste helps to ensure both guest and bear safety. Owner will assume no liability for injury or damage done by wildlife on the property.
